FAQ
Common questions
Is the beta really free?
Yes. During the public beta, all features are completely free — no account required, no credit card, no restrictions. We'll introduce paid plans in the future, and beta users will be rewarded.
Does FormaDraw work offline?
Completely. FormaDraw is a desktop app that runs 100% locally. Your files are saved on your machine — no cloud dependency, no internet required.
What happens when the beta ends?
We'll introduce a free tier and a Pro plan. Your files are always yours — they're saved locally on your machine. Beta users will receive special perks when paid plans launch.
How is FormaDraw different from Excalidraw or Figma?
FormaDraw combines drawing, animation, and knowledge mapping in one tool. Unlike Excalidraw, FormaDraw has a full animation timeline. Unlike Figma, it's local-first with no browser required. Unlike Obsidian Canvas, it has real drawing tools with pressure sensitivity.
What does "AI-Ready" mean?
FormaDraw exposes a programmatic API via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). AI assistants like Claude can directly create, draw, and animate on your canvas — automating repetitive tasks or generating content from prompts.
